Leaves

Slowly and quietly,
The leaves grow out of the stems,
Insects all rejoice.

“She’s my friend.”

“Ohhh, Jaaaaaames, I can’t like you.”

“Why not?”

Andrea was startled, seeing James by the door, why is he here? She was supposed to be alone in this classroom. She must have forgotten to close the door in a hurry to retrieve her bag and settle herself in a chair.

“I followed you back here because I wanted to tell you something-”

“What is it?” She stood up, nervously.

“No, you answer my question first.” Now he is walking slowly towards her, then he stops 2 feet from her. “Why can’t you like me? Why?”

She avoided his look by staring at the board.

“Because…because Danielle really likes you so I should stop liking you myself. Anyway, you seem to like her, too. Oh, let’s just go back, maybe they are looking for-”

“Andrea, wait…you got it all wrong. Andrea, I like you, too. I really do.”

“Oh.” She was surprised. This is the last thing she expected to happen in this encounter. She looked at him. “I don’t know what to say.”

“You don’t have to say anything. Don’t worry about Danielle as well, please.”

Now, she looked away. “She’s my friend.”

“I know that. She’s my friend, too. Just, let’s not make this complicated. Now, let’s go back. They are looking for us by now.”

He waits for her. They walk back together.

“What did you want to tell me earlier?”

“That. I wanted to tell you I like you. I thought it was the perfect opportunity. We were so happy together before you decided to get your bag.”

“Oh, yes.” They smiled at each other and walked back to the seminar room with hearts beating fast.

Adventure

A girl had an adventure with, let’s call him Z. Z was a very nice person in the girl’s class and her friends often tease her to him but, most of the time, Z does not care. In the adventure, the two became close friends and liked each other more. Near the end of the adventure, Z gave the girl a red plastic ring to symbolize that the girl has become special to him. But at the end of the adventure, both just woke up from their own beds to realize that all has been a dream. The girl did not have the ring on her finger. At school, nothing seemed to have changed. Z looked at her like he usually does; her friends also never miss any opportunity to tease her. On the next day, during lunch, she found Z approaching her. “Hey.” “Yeah?” she wanted to tell him about her dream but it would seem very crazy. “Well, I just wanted you to have something that I think belongs to you.” He handed her the red ring! Of course, she was surprised. “You…you…the dream.” “Yes, yes. Crazy it may be, yes.” “You remembered?” “Yes.” “Wait, you are giving this to me. You know what this means right?” “Yes, and like what I said. It belongs to you.” “Oh, thank you.”

In the Hallway

Maybe this paragraph is not meant to be written for I keep deleting it accidentally. Anyway, here I go again…

“Let us meet properly. Let us meet in the hallway. You  will stop walking, you will call me out, ‘Hey, wait.’ I will turn around. You will introduce yourself (even if I already know your name from too many whispers from classmates). I will do the same and tell you, ‘Nice meeting you.’ In my mind, I will add, ‘…finally.’ We will not become friends soon. We will go on with our separate lives. We will still meet in the hallway. This time we will greet each other with each others’ name. We will share small talks and laughs. These will be our little moments.”

Roller Coaster

“At the moment, I’m far too lonely to think about love, but I have to believe that it will happen, that I will find a job and that I am here because I chose this fate. The roller coaster is my life; life is a fast, dizzying game; life is a parachute jump; it’s taking chances, falling over and getting up again; it’s mountaineering; it’s wanting to get to the very top of yourself and to feel angry and dissatisfied when you don’t manage it.

-Paulo Coelho, 11 Minutes

The End

The end of the world is near
But there is nothing to fear
If you live your life well
Death would not be hell.

The end of the world is near
But there is nothing to fear
If you forgive and forget
The wrongs others have set.

The end of the world is near
But there is nothing to fear
If you correct your mistakes
For other people’s sake.

The end of the world is near
But there is nothing to fear
Because the end is not the end
Only the beginning to mend.
